The 23rd Coppell Chamber Golf Classic will be on Oct 10th at Hackberry Creek Country Club. The golf tournament is presented by Time Warner Cable Business Class. The event will be from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm with lunch being served afterward by Hard Eight BBQ.

This community event is open to the public. Single player spots are $150 in advance and $600 for a foursome. Registration now at www.coppellchamber.org.

The Coppell Chamber will host their Annual Membership Luncheon on August 26, 2016 at the Coppell Senior and Community Center.

This month’s luncheon will feature U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant.

As a lifelong conservative, Congressman Kenny Marchant is committed to the values of limited government and fiscal responsibility. Congressman Marchant has a strong record of fighting for lower taxes, eliminating wasteful government spending, bringing accountability and transparency to government, supporting free markets and opposing bailouts.

 As a result of his efforts on behalf of business, he was recognized with several of his colleagues in Congress by the U.S. Chamber for their efforts to support Free Enterprise in the 2015 Congress.

 “The Coppell Chamber is proud to present the U.S. Chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise award to Congressman Marchant during our Annual Membership Luncheon,” Said Kristi Valentine, President and CEO of the Coppell Chamber.

The distinctive Spirit of Enterprise award is bestowed upon for Members of Congress who vote over 70% of the time on key business votes supporting the U.S. chamber’s pro-business agenda and Congressman Marchant is a recipient of that award for his voting record.

Coppell Chamber wins 3 media awards at Texas Chamber Conference for media and communications excellence.

The Coppell Chamber won 3 media awards at the Texas Chambers of Commerce Executives (TCCE) Annual Conference in Corpus Christi this past weekend. The awards were in Social Media, Newspapers and Brochures.

The awards honor chambers for exceptional efforts in marketing, communications and media outreach. Awards are judged in seven separate categories: Social Media Marketing and Communications, Brochures, Chamber Map, Magazine or Community Guide, Print/Electronic News, Outstanding Chamber Website and Outstanding Traditional Marketing Campaign.

“The Coppell Chamber prides itself on having the best communications and outreach technology to best serve our more than 500 business members,” said Ponce Duran, Vice President of Programs and Communications for the Coppell Chamber.

Over 200 entries from across the state of Texas were judged by panels of experts in the specific field. The Coppell Chamber of Commerce placed in 3 of the judged categories. The Coppell Chamber has won 7 media and communications awards at TCCE in the past 2 years.

“It’s such an honor to be recognized by our chamber peers across the state. Winning 4 awards in 2015, then 3 more this year is a clear indication that we are a leader in our industry, especially in business communications,” said Kristi Valentine, President and CEO of the Coppell Chamber, “I’m very proud of our awards and the exceptional quality of work consistently produced by Ponce Duran, our VP of Programs and Communications.”

The Coppell Chamber continues to be one of the best chambers in the state of Texas.

Coppell Chamber ranked top 20 largest chambers in North Texas again!

Despite being the smallest geographically sized chamber in North Texas, the Coppell Chamber of Commerce was ranked as the 19th largest chamber among all other chambers in North Texas, according to the Dallas Business Journal. The Coppell Chamber of Commerce was ranked as the 20th largest last year.

“The Coppell Chamber has proven success in adapting and being nimble in partnering with our members to better serve their business,” said Gayle Westapher, Director of Membership Services for the Coppell Chamber.
Having passed 500 businesses this past year, the Coppell Chamber is continually growing.

“We owe our continued growth and rise in DBJ’s rankings to our ability to meet our member’s needs, whether large or small, with programs and events designed to grow their business,” said Kristi Valentine, President and CEO of the Coppell Chamber.

Happy Flag Day!

Gayle Westapher, Membership Director for the Coppell Chamber of Commerce volunteers her time helping the Coppell Rotary Club put up American flags for residents and businesses in Coppell.

The Coppell Rotary Club began their Flag Program in 2002, providing residents and businesses with a way to commemorate and honor 5 major U.S. holidays.

The Flag Program is the main fundraising program for the Rotary Club and for local volunteer groups and service projects. Among these volunteers are the Boy Scots and Girl Scouts.

“I love the Rotary Club because it’s like a second family. They do such good work not only within our community of Coppell but internationally.” Said Gayle Westapher, Membership Director for the Coppell Chamber, “The Flag Program is a great way to honor our country.”

Westapher joined the Rotary club in 2006, and at the time the Club was only distributing about 100 flags. Nowadays, the Rotary Club is distributing about 1,000 flags every Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day. Westapher is in charge of organizing the distribution of flags for the Chamber and Old Town Coppell.

Coppell Chamber Showcases Area Students and Their Excellence.

 

Throughout the entirety of the 2015-2016 school year, the Coppell Chamber of Commerce has recognized nine students around the Coppell area for their outstanding leadership, commitment and scholarship. These students were nominated by faculty and staff at their prospective schools, and sponsored by local chamber businesses.

“The Chamber Education Committee is proud to recognize outstanding students from our Coppell schools. These students are great examples of the community leaders of tomorrow and we are proud to be able to honor them,” said Beccy Ratliff, Chairman of the Chamber Education Committee.

Students were nominated from Coppell High School, New Tech High @ Coppell, Universal Academy, Parker University, Ranchview High School and North Lake College.

The beginning of the 2015-2016 school year featured four students:

August: Taylor Denson, Universal Academy, sponsored by the City of Coppell

September: Jamie Arthur, New Tech High @ Coppell, sponsored by Coppell Education Foundation

October: Daniel Kho, Coppell High School, sponsored by The Ratliff Group

November: Jamie Kinlen, Parker University, sponsored by Glazier Foods

The start of the 2016 spring semester featured five students:

January: Jodi Grider, Ranchview High School, sponsored by The Ratliff Group

February: Braden Bedicheck, North Lake College, sponsored by North Lake College

March: Yashasvi Pindi, Universal Academy, sponsored by the City of Coppell

April: Josh Fink, Coppell High School, sponsored by Las Colinas Federal Credit Union

May: Lauren Rudd, New Tech High @ Coppell, sponsored by Coppell ISD

 “I know all the great things the Chamber of Commerce does for the city and it meant a lot to me that I was chosen as their Student of the Month,” said Josh Fink, April Student of the Month, “It is nice to see your hard work recognized and praised.”

These nine students received recognition during the Chamber’s monthly luncheons and received a certificate of achievement.

The Coppell Community Development Foundation Awards Scholarships.

The Coppell Chamber announces the recipients of the 2016 Coppell Community Development Foundation (CCDF) scholarship awards.

Scholarships were awarded to Coppell ISD graduating seniors who are planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university. Recipients were chosen based on character, citizenship, scholastic record, financial need, recommendations, career plans and interview skills.

Maddy Giddens received a $5,000 award sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center of Irving, Taddie Cook received a $4,000 award sponsored by Beast Feast and Linda Castranova received a $2,000 award sponsored by CCDF.

The Coppell Community Development Foundation (CCDF) is a 501c(3) that helps provide assistance for business, philanthropic and education programs in Coppell. The CCDF helps with multiple efforts annually that assist the residents and businesses in Coppell. From high school scholarships to assistance in running the Teen Leadership Coppell program. CCDF also assists in the management of the local annual fundraising event, Beast Feast, that raises funds to be shared with multiple Coppell churches to be contributed to their benevolence funds.

 

“It’s so wonderful to have scholarship assistance for local high school graduates available through some fundraising and the generosity of our chamber members,” said Kristi Valentine, President and CEO of the Coppell Chamber.

The Coppell Chamber announces Coppell Job Fair on May 21st.

The Coppell Chamber announces its first ever Coppell Job Fair on May 21st at the new Coppell High School Arena (185 W. Parkway, Coppell, TX). The Coppell Chamber will host the job fair in partnership with the City of Coppell, North Lake College, and Coppell ISD.

Admission is free for job seekers. We ask that job seekers please register at www.coppellchamber.org.

Employer booth space is available for $75 for Coppell Chamber members and $150 for non-members. Sponsorship opportunities are also available from $300 to $1000. See our website for more information at www.coppellchamber.org

The Coppell Chamber announces the 33rd Annual Coppell Community Gala to be held on April 9, 2016. The Gala is the biggest Coppell event of the year and the entire community is invited to attend welcome at this great event. The theme for 2016 is Las Vegas! The Gala will be held from 6 pm – 12 am at the Courtyard DFW Airport North on 2200 Bass Pro Dr., Grapevine, TX.

The Coppell Chamber announces Small Business Saturday on Nov 28th.

This Saturday is the 6th annual Small Business Saturday, designed to celebrate the small businesses that serve you in your community.  Founded in 2010 by American Express, this day is dedicated to supporting the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. This special day, held every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, was created by AMEX in response to small business owners’ most pressing need: more customers.

Again this year, the Coppell Chamber of Commerce invites you to take part in this Shop Small event.
