The Coppell Chamber announces the retirement of LuLu Mayo, and the new hire of Gayle D. Westapher as Director of Membership Services.

LuLu Mayo has been involved with the Coppell Chamber for 16 years and has served as Director of Membership Services for the last 7 years.

She wishes everyone a fond farewell saying. “It has been a great journey and a fabulous time in my life representing our Chamber and my community. I thank all the friends I have made along the way, I appreciate all the businesses who joined our Chamber and became an important role in our business community.  I wish you all continued success! I have loved seeing and witnessing our Chamber and community flourish and I hope I have been a good community steward and Chamber Ambassador.  I thank each of you for our friendships, our laughs, our work, and journey together. Knowing each of you wonderful friends has been my greatest luck; working with you has been my total pleasure!”

Kristi Valentine, President and CEO of the Coppell Chamber said “LuLu is irreplaceable; she has been the face and spirit of the Coppell Chamber for a number of years, even before she officially became an employee in 2009.  Although we are sad to be losing our opportunity to spend time with LuLu every day, the Chamber Board and staff are wishing her well as she now has more time to pursue her passions of traveling, spending time with family, and volunteerism”

“The Coppell Chamber is excited to announce the addition of Gayle D. Westapher to our staff as the Director of Membership Services as of January 4, 2016.  Gayle has been a member of this community for almost 3 decades and has served in multiple capacities on staff at the Coppell Family YMCA since 1999.  We are so thankful that Gayle will continue to be a vital part of the community of Coppell and will utilize her talents in assisting the business community.” Stated Kristi Valentine.

Gayle has lived and worked in Coppell since 1989. She most recently served as the Executive Director of the Coppell Family YMCA.

“I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to serve the Coppell Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Membership Services.  When Kristi told me that Lulu was retiring, I knew immediately that this was a position I wanted to pursue.  Lulu has done a remarkable job in her tenure at the Chamber and my hope is that I will be able to continue that wonderful legacy.  I’ve loved watching our community grow and evolve from the little 18,000-person town it was when I moved here in 1989 to its current state and cannot wait to serve the business community in this new role at the Coppell Chamber.” said Gayle Westapher.

The Coppell Chamber of Commerce announces its Building Campaign for the purchase of a building located at 708 Main Street. As the Chamber celebrates its 25th year, we have decided that now is the time to plant our roots in Old Town/Main Street Coppell with the purchase of a business cottage that will serve as our Chamber office.  Here’s how you can get involved.

“The Chamber is gathering our community of supporters and commissioning a “Legacy Wall” for the new building to honor those businesses and individuals that invest $1,000 or more in the Building Campaign. I hope you will join me as a “Legacy Partner.”  Your support will help ensure the continued work of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce – a meaningful Legacy Gift of a lifetime for our community,” stated Kristi Valentine, President & CEO of the Coppell Chamber.

The Chamber has already begun raising funds towards reaching the goal of $100,000. Completion of the building and the move into the new office is expected to take place by December 31,2015, and will allow the Chamber to continue to serve the business community in and around Coppell with a presence in Old Town.

The Chamber’s Building Campaign is being led by Ricardo Roberto, owner of RA Financial.  Mr. Roberto can be reached at (972) 471-9755 or by email at Ricardo.roberto@lpl.com .  Please contact the Chamber at (972) 393-2829 or by email at karen@coppellchamber.org if you wish to donate. The Chamber prefers to receive all Building Campaign funds during the 2015 calendar year.

Thank you for your consideration and continued support of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce.

President & CEO, Coppell Chamber of Commerce

The Coppell Community Gala is for everyone, at least all that wants to have a great time, see friends and meet other neighbors from Coppell.  This is the 32nd Coppell Community Gala and this year’s theme is “I LOVE NY.”  Join us for an evening of games, great dinner, live entertainment, a Live & Silent Auction and the dancing gets started when the Good Question Band takes the stage.

If you’ve never attended, let this year be the first.  I admit I hadn’t attended the Community Gala before 2013, but now my husband and I look forward to it each year.  Need a reason to dress nice and hit the town?  You have a Broadway Musical fetish and have been looking for a reason to dress-up as Mary Poppins, a character from Cats or a sailor from South Pacific?  The NY theme lends itself to classic black & white attire (formalwear is optional), Musical Characters’ costumes, or whatever crosses your mind when you think of NYC.

Spoiler-Alert---there are some AMAZING items in our Live & Silent Auction this year…golfers might jump on the tickets to the Masters or a private “Byron Nelson Tournament Experience.”  If you are interested in a trip for 2 to NYC to catch two Broadway Shows and see the “bright lights/big city,” then you’ll want to make sure you are the highest bidder.  We truly have something for everyone this year!  We have a bounty of gift cards & certificates to a local restaurants & merchants---purchase a sealed bag for $20 in our Gift Card Pull and you are guaranteed to get a value of $25-$100 in gift cards & certificates.

Get your tickets today!  Purchase online at www.coppellchamber.org or by phone at 972-393-2829.  Sponsorships still available and we are still accepting donations for the silent auction, too.  Great way to market your business to Coppell residents and businesses.  Reserved tables available for 8 or more.
