Andres Signing Day.jpg CHS track athlete Sierra Andres commits to UTSA

Coppell High School track athlete and recent graduate, Sierra Andres has committed to running in college, capping off a successful high school career with a chance to compete at a higher level.

After considering several options, Andres recently signed her National Letter of Intent committing to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).

“Since I didn’t sign early, I was repeatedly asked the same question for months – where are you going to school?” Andres said. “And I’ve visited various campuses since junior year. But I wanted to keep my options open and consider everything. When I finally made the decision I was very relieved,” said Andres, who is delighted for the opportunity to compete in her home state.

Throughout middle and high school, Andres has accumulated numerous track medals and honors, including breaking the long-standing CHS record in the 200-meter dash this year with a time of 24.9. She’s also had plenty of success on the track away from CHS. Over the past 5 years, she has participated in dozens of AAU and USA track and field meets, finishing fourth and fifth place at national competitions in the 400-meter race; she also earned a bronze medal and All American honors during the USATF Junior Olympics last summer.

Sierra plans to study pre-physical therapy at UTSA and is excited about becoming a Roadrunner.
