We're having a party to celebrate the arrival of Summer!  Please join us for an evening with Rafael Cruz, patriot and pastor.  If you have never heard him speak, it is an evening you won't soon forget.  He is a powerful example of the American Dream.  Born in Cuba, Rafael lived and suffered under an oppressive dictator.  Through imprisonment and his journey to Texas, he learned what it is to be free and conservative in the United States!  He will share his story as well as give us an update on the Ted Cruz campaign.  Come ready to ask lots of questions!

Please contact us at coppellrepublicanwomen@gmail.com for the address of this meeting, or if you are on our mailing list, you should have already received your Punchbowl invitation.

Wreaths Across America is December 16th, 2017

All ceremonies around the country will occur simultaneously, at Noon Eastern Time, therefore the Coppell ceremony will begin at 11:00 am sharp.

Coppell Republican Women and Rolling Oaks Memorial Center, 400 Freeport Drive in Coppell will be participating in Wreaths Across America at 11:00 am Central Time on December 16, 2017.

The mission of Wreaths Across America is to Remember our fallen U.S. veterans, Honor those who serve and Teach your children the value of freedom.

The Coppell Republican Women, assisted by military veterans and community volunteers will lay 7 wreaths at the cemetery representing the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Merchant Marine and POW/MIA. In addition, we have sponsored 47 additional wreaths which be laid on the head stones of U.S. veterans buried at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center.  Family members of these veterans have been invited to attend and lay wreaths on the graves of their family member. When the wreath is laid, we ask all family and volunteers to “Say Their Names”.

A person dies twice: once when they take their final breath, and later, the last time their name is spoken. – WreathsAcrossAmerica.org

Wreaths Across America was founded in 2007 after the Arlington Wreath Project, which was founded in 1992, drew enough interest to expand outside of the Arlington National Cemetery. In 2014, Wreaths Across America and its national network of volunteers laid over 700,000 memorial wreaths at 1,000 locations in the United States and beyond, including ceremonies at the Pearl Harbor Memorial, as well as Bunker Hill, Valley Forge and the sites of the September 11 tragedies. This was accomplished with help from 2,047 fundraising groups, corporate contributions, and donations of trucking, shipping, and thousands of helping hands.

We are not here to “decorate graves." We're here to remember not their deaths, but their lives.

–Karen Worcester, Executive Director of Wreaths Across America

"Home at Last"-the Repatriation of Captain Robert Russell Barnett, USAF, MIA/KIA-April 7, 1966, Returned April 7, 2017

Debra Coffey was 9 years old when her father was shot down over Laos.  He was declared KIA/MIA.  He was repatriated 51 years to the day his B57 was shot down, after taking hostile ground fire.  Debra explains the span of 40 years of not knowing or having any information about her father, then his crash site is identified, followed by the years of attempts to recover and identify her father.  In December 2016, she gets that long awaited call that they have identified her father and are bringing this American hero home.....at last. This is a meeting you don't want to miss!

About Patriot Paws
Each dog from Patriot Paws is customized to the individual need of the recipient with the goal of increasing self-sufficiency. The tasks the dogs are trained for provide help for both visible and invisible disabilities. Patriot Paws and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice have partnered to provide an opportunity for male and female inmates to volunteer and assist in the training of the dogs. The partnership has provided the inmates a job while serving their sentence and given them the opportunity to learn a new vocation while giving back to the community. Each dog costs an average of $30,000 and two years to train. Patriot Paws has over 150 veterans on their waiting list right now.
