Songs for All Seasons
On August 17th, the Coppell Community Chorale starts rehearsals for the first concert of its 29th year: “A Song For All Seasons.” The show will run the weekend of November 7 and feature songs themed around Seasons: great numbers will include “Turn, Turn, Turn” “Seasons of Love” and “Calendar Girl.” The CCC would love to have you join them!
Last Season. The CCC finished last year in May with a patriotic “Made in America” show, featuring Americana music. A highlight was a guest conductor appearance by Councilwoman Brianna Hinajosa-Flores. Hinajosa-Flores shined as she led the Chorale in the Star Spangled banner to start the show. (See Picture below), She has a musical background and did a spectacular job. Apparently it was only a warm-up for her, as later that afternoon her son had a piano recital!
“Made in America” completed Maestro Duilio Dobrin’s first full year directing the Chorale. All who attended confirmed that he has increased the quality of the singing and taken the CCC to a new level of musicality.
Looking Forward. As the Chorale gears up to celebrate its 30 year, it has exciting plans for four concerts: in November “A Song for All Seasons", December “Our Favorite Time of Year,” February “Faure’s Requiem," and May “Mood Music”. The CCC also enjoys performing at civic functions for our town, such as at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center and the Fourth of July Parade.
New Members Welcome. Any interested singers are welcome to join the CCC without audition. Rehearsals begin August 17th. They take place on Mondays from 7-9PM at the Coppell Center for the Arts, 157 S Moore Rd, Coppell.
