First United Methodist Church Coppell will celebrate Back to School Sunday on August 24. It will be a day of fun, fellowship and worship. The church will hosts its normal worship times. The times of worship and events are below:

During some of the worship services, the students and teachers returning to school will be recognized. Also, the annual Blessing of the Backpacks will take place. First United Methodist Church Coppell will host its annual Patriotic Pops Concert on Memorial Day - Monday, May 26^th at 5:00 pm. The free concert will honor Veterans and loved ones who serve, many of whom have died defending freedom at home and throughout the global community. FUMC Coppell’s Music Ministry will perform familiar and new tunes that pay tribute to the brave men and women of the Armed Services. The concert will feature the FUMC Coppell’s orchestra, Chancel Choir, bell choirs and special guests’ performers. Following the concert, the church will serve hot dogs and ice cream. First United Methodist Church of Coppell would like to invite all women to join us for If: Coppell on Feb. 7-8^th.  If: Coppell is a local meeting of the If: Gathering, a conference of women being hosted at hundreds of sites around the world to consider big questions like “If God is real, then what?”

The If: Gathering, which will be webcast from Austin, is led by well known, inspirational Christian women including Jen Hatmaker, Jennie Allen, Ann Voskamp, and Lauren Chandler.   The purpose of the If: Gathering is to gather women to talk about how to live out the unique calling God has placed on their lives, to equip women to know God more deeply and to live out their purposes, and to unleash women to utilize their God-given gifts leaving a tangible impact on the world.

The leaders of the conference proclaim "...we do not want to waste our lives here on earth. We believe that we need to find our purposes individually and corporately for our generation. We believe that we can have a greater impact if we come together and execute some mission together. We will begin to offer you ways in which to live out your calling for the sake of the Kingdom, the world at large, and your immediate communities..."

If: Coppell will be held from 3:00-10:00pm on Friday, Feb 7^th, and Saturday, Feb 8^th from 10:00am-5:00pm.  Dinner Friday and lunch Saturday are included in the registration fee of $25 per person.  Discounted rates are available for women who can only attend Saturday.

Christmas Eve is quickly approaching and First United Methodist Church Coppell has several worship times from which to choose. We are offering a Traveler’s service for those who will be traveling or out of town on Christmas Eve. This service will be on December 18^th at 7:00 p.m. It will have all the elements of a Christmas Eve service, but just celebrate a week earlier.

On Christmas Eve, we are offering five worship times. First, there will be an afternoon candlelight communion service at 3:00 p.m. This will be an informal service. Then at 4:30 p.m., we will have a family service with our Christmas pageant. Our church’s children will be performing the nativity.  At 7:00 p.m., our Chancel Choir will sing during our Candlelight Communion service. For a modern spin on Christmas, we will have a Modern Candlelight Communion service in the Modern Worship Center. Finally our last service of the night will be a Candlelight Communion service at 11:00 p.m. This service will conclude at midnight on Christmas morning. All our services will celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ birth bringing light in to the darkness.
