Panasonic Avionics Representatives (L to R) Shari Biondahl, Michelle Orr, and Sara Maples present a $500 donation to Scarlett Hovland, (far right) City of Coppell Administrative Support Assistant/Make A Child Smile Coordinator.

Coppell's Make A Child Smile program, which provides gifts to children whose families could use some extra help during the winter holiday season, has received an early donation from a local company.

Coppell-based Panasonic Avionics made a $500 donation to the annual program, which kicks off in November this year.

"This is a terrific program for our community made possible by businesses such as Panasonic Avionics," said Clay Phillips, Coppell's city manager.

Panasonic Avionics has supported the Make A Child Smile for more than a decade. The program has the goal of providing "at least one toy and one article of clothing for each child." Any person or company who is interested in helping can contact Scarlett Hovland via email at shovland@coppelltx.gov or at (972) 304-3663.
