The February meeting of the Coppell Republican Women promises to be very enlightening.  Our guests will be our own Justice Bill Whitehill and Justice Ada Brown from the 5th District Court of Appeals.  They will provide information and insight on the Texas judicial system.

We will meet on Sunday, February 8 at 3:00 pm for social time, followed by the meeting at 3:30 pm at the Coppell Fire Training Center, 133 Parkway Blvd, Coppell.

Justice Whitehill was formerly at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP and was sworn in on January 1, 2015.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas and SMU School of Law.  His work as a trial and appellate lawyer and personal background has given him the experience, judgment, common sense, and analytical skills needed to fairly and impartially serve the citizens of Texas as an appellate justice.

Justice Brown graduated from Spelman College and Emory University Law School.  She began her career as a an Assistant District Attorney. She has also served as Judge in the Dallas County Criminal Court, in private practice at McKool Smith and then was appointed to the 5th Court of Appeals.  During the course of her impressive career, she has earned the respect of her peers, who selected her to be a Texas Monthly Magazine’s Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2005, 2012, and 2013.
