Dallas to host convention for
Texas Federation of Republican Women
TFRW President: Theresa Kosmoski (Houston)
Convention Chair: Kit Whitehill (Coppell)
Republican women from across the state are shining up their boots and getting their best Red Attire ready to descend upon Dallas from October 19-21, 2017 for the 31st Biennial Convention of the Texas Federation of Republican Women. Hundreds of Republican Women and Grassroots leaders will take over BIG D for the event which will be held at the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas.
TFRW has made the commitment to give back to the nation’s veterans by adopting Patriot Paws as their philanthropy at the 2017 state convention. Patriot Paws is a non-profit organization based in Rockwall, Texas, whose mission is to train and provide service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American veterans in order to help restore their physical and emotional independence.
TFRW kicked-off a fundraising drive for Patriot Paws at Legislative Day held in April in Austin and raised $30,000. It was followed by the generous support of Lt. Governor Dan Patrick who has committed to match with $30,000.
As members of TFRW, Coppell Republican Women are supporting Patriot Paws and are conducting a fundraising campaign to support Patriot Paws. Donations may be sent to Patriot Paws - 254 Ranch Trail - Rockwall, Texas 75032. Write “Coppell Republican Women-TFRW” in Memo section for credit to be given to CRW’s fundraising efforts. About Patriot Paws
Each dog from Patriot Paws is customized to the individual need of the recipient with the goal of increasing self-sufficiency. The tasks the dogs are trained for provide help for both visible and invisible disabilities. Patriot Paws and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice have partnered to provide an opportunity for male and female inmates to volunteer and assist in the training of the dogs. The partnership has provided the inmates a job while serving their sentence and given them the opportunity to learn a new vocation while giving back to the community. Each dog costs an average of $30,000 and two years to train. Patriot Paws has over 150 veterans on their waiting list right now.
