The countdown is onit’s to the point where it’s pretty much too late to order Christmas gifts and holiday items online (unless you’re willing to pay an arm and a leg for shipping), and the options are becoming more and more limited. So, we encourage you to branch out into your local businesses to finish that last-minute holiday shopping.

Let’s be honest: shopping malls are alright, but the parking situations are a nightmare this time of year and there’s hardly any space to shop comfortably.

Since we’re all about connecting local businesses and potential customers, as well as providing relevant, timely and informative community-focused news, we want you to know some of the most unique places to pick up Christmas gifts in the days leading up to December 25, as told by folks in your town’s Economic Development Corporations or Chamber of Commerce.

Here they are in Coppell:

Kristi Valentine, President and CEO of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, gave us 4 of her top recommendations for where to shop for unique gifts in the City (all are Chamber members, of course):

For the people in your life who like jewelry, Coppell-related spirit items for boys and girls, clothing accessories and handmade holiday home decor, head on over to It's a Party Coppell, a special gift store.

Sons, husbands, uncles, and brothers might like something from Roll2Play game store.

"It is really a cool place with a very different philosophy on business," Valentine said of Roll2Play. "Tiffany Franzoni, the owner, had a vision for years to open a store in our community that provided people of all ages a place to gather and play games." Plus, the store sells card games, board games and dice games—oh, and nothing is electronic.

Coppell's own Private Gallery boutique offers tons of trendy clothing, jewelry and accessories that you can't find at the mall. Great gifts for the fashion-forward ladies in your life.

Make your way to 456 W. Bethel Road to peruse items at Coppell Home Decor, a locally-owned and operated destination for one-of-a-kind gifts, home accessories and more.

We have one more suggestion: the Coppell Swap and Shop (which we've written about) has some interesting finds for those family members who have everything. Check it out!

For those who love to receive the gift of food or sweet treats, consider a bottle of BBQ sauce or gift card from Hard Eight BBQ or a gorgeous pastry from Zenzero Bakery & Cafe (who doesn't love receiving the gift of pie?!).

Happy shopping, and more importantly, happy holidays!
