Shelley Klingemann, long time Coppell resident and member of the Coppell Family YMCA, was recently named Board Chair for the Y’s Board of Management.  Klingemann, husband Gary and children Colin and Emily have been actively involved with the YMCA since they joined in 2000.  Klingemann has been actively involved with numerous aspects of the Coppell Y including chair of the Community Services Committee, member of the Membership and Wellness Committee and years of volunteer work with the Adaptive Aquatics program and the Special Olympics program. “We love the Y and the mission upon which it is built,” said Klingemann.  “Volunteering to be the Board Chair was just a natural part of the progression of this involvement.”

Klingemann is a Senior Marketing Director for Verizon and has worked for the company for the past 19 years. Her husband Gary, is well known for creating the logo used for the city of Coppell, and is also an active volunteer at the Y, having most recently created a professional-grade video for the YMCA’s Annual Campaign.

“Shelley and her family truly have service hearts,” says Gayle Westapher, Executive Director of the Y “and when combined with her outstanding business skills, she provides an unbeatable recipe for success which will created untold good for the Y and our community.”
