Annual campaign funds grants for innovative learning

The Coppell ISD Education Foundation (CEF) kicks off its annual Give for Grants Campaign on October 22, 2018 and it runs through November 16, 2018. Give for Grants (formerly called the Red & Black Campaign) is CEF’s main fundraising vehicle for its unique grant program that awards monies directly to teachers to fund innovative learning programs.

“Give for Grants allows CEF to fund many innovative learning experiences across all grade levels. Community support of the campaign shows the strong commitment that the citizens of Coppell ISD have to excellence in education,” said Rosie Stevens, CEF President.

CEF places a yard sign at the home or business of anyone donating $25 or more. “Our hope is to have all of Coppell ISD displaying Give for Grants yard signs as a testimony to the community support for innovative education,” says Dr. Holly Fisher, the CEF Vice President of Fundraising. 

This year’s Classroom Grant application deadline was in early October and CEF received an unprecedented 51 applications, from across all 17 CISD campuses, for a total request of about $160,600.  Applicants find out if they are a grant recipient in late November or early December. CEF asks for the community’s support. Those wishing to donate may do so at Give4GrantsCISD.org or at their child’s school.

Operating independently of the CISD, the foundation fosters innovative learning approaches through a private grant program that encourages educators to push beyond the resources provided by the district to further enrich the education of CISD learners. CEF is a non-profit corporation 501(c)(3) chartered in June 2000. Since our inception, we have given over $1 million in education grants to Coppell ISD schools and teachers.
