On Friday, Feb. 1, students at Austin Elementary in Coppell showed their support for lifesaving heart and stroke research.

The students participated in the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart. Jump Rope for Heart is a program that teaches students about being physically active and how to take care of their hearts.

Leading up to the Jump Rope for Heart event, students had been studying the functions of a heart and heart-healthy habits.

Through the Jump Rope for Heart program, students helped raise money for more research and educational programs, while learning more about physical fitness.
