Coppell High School Drumline Earns 1st Place in Lewisville Drumline Contest

Coppell High School Varsity Drumline earns 1st place in Lewisville Drumline Contest

Coppell High School finished off their 2018 contest season this Saturday, November 10, with the Lewisville Drumline Contest, as well as the Lonestar Drumline Contest. This year’s show entitled “TOSKA” was written by Coppell High School’s own, Doug Bush and Patricia Islas.  It features music from Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff.  The Coppell Drumline is under the direction of Annie Chernow.

The drumline started off the day by performing at the Lewisville Drumline Contest where they swept all captions of Best Bass, Snare, Tenor and Front Ensemble for an overall 1st place finish.  They then went on to compete at the Lonestar Drumline Contest at Marcus High School that hosted drumlines from all over Texas.  The Coppell Drumline performed another amazing show and came away with a 4th place finish.  The JV Drumline also performed at the Lonestar Drumline Contest, and although they didn't place, they had a strong showing in their category.

With this, the drumline season comes to a close.  The drumlines have worked tirelessly on their performances and it’s been a great year culminating in a fantastic finish.
