The Coppell Track and Field team completed their first full meet of the season at the Trojan Relays against 10 top schools around the metroplex on Saturday, February 15th. Coppell Men’s Varsity & JV both won first place, while the Women’s JV took first and Woman’s varsity took second. Coppell brought a solid group of competitors on all four teams and included standout performances from several individuals who took 1st place in multiple events.
Senior Samir Thota took first in both the Men’s Varsity 100 meter and 200 meter sprints with times of 10:45 and 22:05. Samir then finished the meet as a member of the winning Men’s Varsity 4X400 relay.
Freshman Sky Schuller took first in Varsity Women’s High jump and the 100 meter hurdles with 5’4” and time of 14:86. Sky also took first in Varsity Women’s pole vault with a jump of 12’ 08” which is the new Coppell High school record.
Senior Skyler Corbaley won the Men’s Varsity 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.56 and was the anchor for the Varsity Men’s 4x400 relay team which brought home a winning time of 3:31.
Junior Emma Sherrer won the Women’s JV open 400 meter run and was a member of the winning Women’s JV 4X400 relay team.
Freshman Waverly Hassman won the Women’s JV open 800 meter run and was a member of the winning Women’s JV 4X400 relay team.
Sophmore Wesley Arnold won the Men’s JV open 400 meter run and was a member of the winning Men’s JV 4X400 relay team.
Rounding out the 1st place wins for all 4 Coppell teams included Allie Stricker, Avery Hancock, Baker Tipton, Cameron Churchill-Dowd, Charles Weber, Evan Caswell, Gabriel Sosa, Geoffrey Williams, Grace Turman, Jackson Walker, Jacob Rauscher, Lexi Mupo, Nawawan Poopanead, Raymundo Aguirre, Rith Bhattacharyya, Ryan Ferguson, Sammy Hernandez, Sikyra Castle, Sydney Rowe, Ravishka Arora, Tyler Felton, Vedanti Naktode, and Will Dudley.
