Honored Teacher and Student AP Chemistry teacher Amy Snyder with top 5% senior Anvita Kandru

The Coppell ISD Education Foundation (CEF) recently hosted its annual Academic Recognition Banquet.  The event celebrated the graduating seniors in the top five percent at Coppell High School and New Tech High @ Coppell.  This year, 41 Coppell High School and three New Tech High @ Coppell students attended the banquet held at the Courtyard Marriott in Grapevine.

For the event, each senior selected a CISD teacher who had made a positive impact on their academic career to invite to the banquet.  During the evening, the students were given the opportunity to honor their selected teacher by sharing with all of the attendees how that teacher had impacted their educational experience.  While the majority of the honored teachers were from one of the high schools, there were 3 middle school and 3 elementary school teachers recognized.

CISD Superintendent, Brad Hunt, also announced the elementary and secondary district teachers of the year during the banquet.  Wilson Elementary music teacher Eric Hanson was named Elementary District Teacher of the Year and Coppell Middle School North 6thgrade language arts teacher Mel Mollick was named Secondary District Teacher of the Year.
