Coppell Track & Field Has Solid Results at Keller Fossil Ridge Panther Relays

The Coppell High School Track and Field team traveled to Keller on Thursday, March 24 for the Keller Fossil Ridge Panther Relays. 

The varsity boys 4x400 meter relay team of Jaden Walker, Joshua Williams, Gabriel Lemons, and Christian Leffingwell took first place for a third meet in a row with a time of 3:23.0.  The varsity boys 4x200 meter relay team of Matthew Dicken, Christian Leffingwell, Gabriel Lemons, and Samir Thota also took first place with a time of 1:29.23.

The varsity girls had two first place finishes at the Fossil Ridge meet.  First place went to senior, Payton Kirk, in the 200 meters at 25.4; and junior, Rowan Hassman, in the 800 meters at 2.24.0.

The JV boys had a solid showing at the meet.  In the pole vault, sophomore, Evan Harper, and freshman, Gabriel Sosa, tied for first at 12-06.00.  This was a personal record for Harper.  A close finish in the 3200 meter resulted in freshman, Evan Caswell, taking first at 10:13.0, with freshmen, Colin Proctor, right on Caswell’s heels in second at 10:13.4.

The JV girls won the meet with a 142.5 points.  First place finishes went to freshman, Morgan Colon, in the 400 meters at 1:01.81; freshman, Reezon Eke, in the 800 meters a 2:30.0; and freshman, Bernice David, in the 3200 meters at 12:57.0.

Coppell will host the district track and field meet at Buddy Echols Field on April 6 – 7.  The community is invited to come out and support the team to a district win.
