Texas Relays Payton Kirk & Philip Frank.jpg Coppell seniors, Payton Kirk and Philip Frank, qualified for the Texas Relays in individual events.

The Texas Relays were held at the University of Texas at Austin on March 28 – 31. This annual event hosts college and high school athletes from the state.  Coppell had 10 athletes qualify for the relays this year.

The girls 4x800 relay team of Alexandra Saunders, Chloe Hassman, Rowan Hassman, and Morgan Colon had an outstanding finish in sixth place with a time of 9:32.

The boys distance medley relay team of Philip Frank, Kaz Carlsen-Phelan, Marcos Bohn, and Jackson Walker had a great race at 10:38.68 finishing in ninth place overall.  This time was just under two seconds of the Coppell high school record. 

Two Coppell seniors participated in individual events.  Philip Frank placed 10th in the high jump at 6-6, and 20th in the 110 meter hurdles at 14.89.  Payton Kirk finished 41st in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.25.

The girls also sent a distance medley relay team which included Natalie Fleming, Sikyra Castle, Maddie Hulcey, and Shelby Spoor.  This team finished in 16th place with a time of 12.47.64.
