New Tech High @ Coppell will hold a Polar Express Kids Night this Friday, Dec. 7, and next Friday, Dec. 14 from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

A group of students, led by seniors Ayesha Patel and Sylvia Petrova, are coordinating the event as a fun service project to raise money to help provide heart surgery for Brooklyn, a baby girl born with a severe heart defect.

Ayesha says, "For $10 per hour per child, a group of students and faculty sponsors will provide pizza, popcorn, hot chocolate, movies and other activities to entertain kids while parents Christmas shop or do whatever they want for the evening."

Sylvia added, "We're telling kids to wear pajamas and bring blankets or pillowsif they want."

Children can be dropped off at the school anytime after 6 p.m. All children should be picked up by 10:30 p.m. at the latest.
