CHS Lariette Spaghetti Dinner Traditions Continue

MORRIS AND LARIETTE OFFICERS:

CHS Lariette officers prepare to “kick off” the 29th Annual Spaghetti Dinner, Silent Auction, and Raffle.  Featuring (l-r) Kalena Jones, Reagan O’Hearn, Elliott McFarlane (Social Lead), Addison Davis (Captain), Morris Salerno, Gillian Perry, Irene Son, and Ashley Park.

It is one of Coppell’s favorite traditions to kick-off the first home football game by attending the Coppell Lariette Spaghetti Dinner prior to the game.  The Coppell Lariettes 29stAnnual Spaghetti Dinner, Silent Auction and Raffle will take place on Friday, August 31st from 5– 7pm at Coppell High School.

Award-winning chef, Morris Salerno, of Highland Village’s Bistecca Italian Steakhouse has provided the Lariette Spaghetti Dinner for 25 years.  In 1993, he was approached by the Lariettes to make the pasta for 200 people. Instead, he offered to make the entire dinner instead.  This year it is anticipated that Salerno will be providing over 1,000 spaghetti dinners the night of the event.

“There’s a lot of pride, tradition, and experience that goes into our food,” Salerno explains.   Salerno’s sauce, that he calls “suga”, is based on his great-grandmother’s recipe that he helped prepare as a child. Coppell community members return to the Lariette’s Spaghetti Dinner year after year to enjoy this famous sauce.

In addition to the Spaghetti Dinner, the Lariettes are also having raffle prize drawings, a silent auction, bake sale and for the first time, an online auction. The online auction will run from August 21st-28th at www.chslariettes.com.

The raffle tickets are $5 and $1 and items include a golf outing for four, a GoPro HERO5, a sapphire and gold bracelet, Dallas Star tickets and more.  Tickets are available from any Lariette drill team member.

The online and silent auctions offer amazing items this year!  Sports fans will enjoy bidding on autographed footballs from famous Coppell alumni, the Dallas Cowboy’s Connor Williams and the San Francisco 49er’s Solomon Thomas.  Parents will have the chance to bid on multiple SAT/ACT tutoring offerings, sports camps, and driving schools.  Family will enjoy bidding on getaways to a luxury lake cabin in Broken Bow, the Four Seasons Resort in Las Colinas, and The Omni Hotel Park West Dallas.  In addition, there are hundreds of gift cards and items from local restaurants, retailers, and entertainment venues up for bid.

Tickets for the event are $10 for the adult dinner and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. For more information about the Lariette Spaghetti Dinner, visit their website at www.chslariettes.com.
