The Coppell Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual fall event, Oak Fest, on Sat., Oct. 20 with its new extended hours, 3p.m – 10p.m, at Andy Brown Park East, 260 E. Parkway Blvd.  This year’s performing artists include Maiden Texas and Emerald City.

 This fun, family event includes miniature train rides, face painting, live bands, bounce houses, and much more.  Show performances by The Side Street Circus and Professor Brainius will entertain the young and young at heart. Also new to Oak Fest this year is Run Oak Fest: The Haunted Mile, hosted by the Coppell Chamber of Commerce. The haunted fun run festivities, including a costume contest, begin promptly at 3p.m.  Find more information at coppellchamber.org.

A fantastic slate of festival food is available for purchase including BBQ sandwiches, turkey legs, funnel cakes, hot dogs, hamburgers and more.   Bring a picnic or enjoy the great local food! Cash only please.  Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in any park.

Stage entertainment includes Maiden Texas, a Texas-born trio with a unique country music blend.  Headlining the event is Emerald City providing an excellent musical blend of anything and everything that makes you want to dance!

Limited parking is available at Andy Brown Park East and the Coppell Aquatic and Recreation Center. Additional parking is available at Town Center and Andy Brown Community Parks Central and West, just a trail walk away!

This event is free to the public.
