A beautifully-landscaped garden can serve as an oasis away from the stresses of daily life. But if you weren't blessed with a green thumb or if you're just not sure how to start planning your personal paradise, then you might want to check out the Texas SmartScape Tour this Saturday, September 29.

Hosted by the Coppell Community Garden, this free self-guided tour will showcase five Coppell homes and two Coppell community gardens. From an English cottage garden to a yard filled with drought-tolerant native and adapted plants, the tour boasts a collection of landscapes to suit a variety of tastes. Attendees can learn about SmartScape gardening techniques and get some ideas on what to plant for next year.

Maps will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Helping Hands Garden, located at 255 Parkway Boulevard. The tour runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
