Coppell’s Austin Moore competes in the Long Jump Event at the Allen Eagle Relays.

After a weeklong Spring Break hiatus, the CHS track teams traveled to Allen on Friday, March 22 to compete in the Allen Eagle Relays. The Cowgirl and Cowboy varsity and junior varsity teams all finished the meet in second place.

In women's varsity action, Coppell senior Cassidy Pickrell won the High Jump event, jumping 5’6” to tie her own CHS school record. Sammy Robben added a first place finish in the Discus, as did Rosemary Brinegar in Pole Vault. Second place medals went to Sarah Agnew in Pole Vault, as well as the 4x200 Relay team of Selase Buatsi, Chiamaka Ukoha, Bailey Bedichek and Adaiwu Nwaiwu, and the 4x400 Relay team of Leah Yates, Ukoha, Bedichek, and Sierra Andres. Finishing third was the 4x100 Relay team of Kate Rohrbough, Andres, Ukoha and Nwaiwu. Also in third were Andres in the 400m, Anna Novosadova in 300m Hurdles, Rohrbough in 100m Hurdles and Buatsi in Long Jump. Adding fourth place points for the team were Jessie Cranmer running the 3200m, Grace Barden in the 800m, Marian McRae in the High Jump and Alex Fuselier in Pole Vault. Paskalina Bourbon and Cranmer took fifth in the 3200 and 1600, respectively, as did Olivia Wolford in the 800m, McRae in the 400m, and Rohrbough in the 300m Hurdles. Sixth place finishers were Bourbon in the 1600m, and Ukoha in Triple Jump.

The Cowboys Varsity Team racked up first place points from Carson Vickroy in both the 3200m and 1600m Run. Second place event medals went to Clayton Hemphill in the 3200m, Shane Murray in the 800m, Chibuzor Osuji in the 110m Hurdles, Marcus Mitchell in the Triple Jump, and Colin Echols in the Discus. The 4x100 Relay team of Jacob Murray, Eric Stevenson, Omari Cole and Cameron Smith took third place, as did Jacob Murray, Stevenson, Mark Teffeteller and Cole in the 4x200 Relay. Taking individual bronze were Hemphill in the 1600, Clifton Fadal in Long Jump, and Chad Williams in Pole Vault. Fourth place honors went to Josh Thomas in the 1600m, Darian Lowe in the 400m, and Cole in the 200m. Mitchell added a fifth place finish in the 300m Hurdles, as did Osuji in High Jump, Esere Nesiama in Pole Vault, and Leighton Light in Shot Put. The 4x400 Relay team of Lowe, Teffeteller, Josh Fink and Austin Moore took sixth place, along with Leo Fan in the 3200m, Justin Armenta in the 800, Stevenson in the 200, Jacob Murray in the 100m, Osuji in the 300m Hurdles, John Herubin in the 110m Hurdles, Killian Bresnahan in the Discus, and William Udeh in the Shot Put.

Coppell JV girls finished the meet in second place, with points from Kylie Pickrell, Whitney Walker, Nicole Francis, Rachel Watley, Robyn Okereke, Meg Howard, AnnKathryn Fadal, Kaleigh Keyes, Cassidy Packer, Taylor Bell, Christine LaPuma, Alyssa Cervantes, Kennedy Burch, AnnMarie Vincenzo, Laura Taylor, Ashley Burgess, Chinma Omogah, Marissa Hackl, Brittany Valdez and Alexia Garvin. 

JV boys also finished second, thanks to the efforts of George Fairchild, Connor Williams, Zach Holmes, Braden Young, Anand Pant, Adam Centers, Alex Abalos, Brock Ethridge, James McRae, Elliot Tostrud, Bryce Vonzurmuhlen, Trevor Onstott, Lynn Conkleton, Deion Foster, Taylor Wilhelm, Joey Howerton and Conner Oh.
