It is one of Coppell’s favorite traditions to kick-off the first home football game by attending the Coppell Lariette Spaghetti Dinner prior to the game. The Coppell Lariettes 30th Annual Spaghetti Dinner, Auction and Raffle will take place on Friday, September 6th from 5– 7pm at Coppell High School.
Award-winning chef, Morris Salerno, of Highland Village’s Bistecca Italian Steakhouse has provided the Lariette Spaghetti Dinner for 26 years. In 1993, he was approached by the Lariettes to make the pasta for 200 people. Instead, he offered to make the entire dinner. This year it is anticipated that Salerno will be providing over 1,000 spaghetti dinners the night of the event.
“There’s a lot of pride, tradition, and experience that goes into our food,” Salerno explains. Salerno’s sauce, that he calls “suga”, is based on his great-grandmother’s recipe that he helped prepare as a child. Coppell community members return to the Lariette’s Spaghetti Dinner year after year to enjoy his famous sauce.
In addition to the Spaghetti Dinner, the Lariettes will have raffle prize drawings, a silent auction, bake sale and an online auction. The online auction runs from August 19th-August 27th at www.chslariettes.com.
The raffle tickets are $5 and $1 and items include a golf outing for four, spa packages, diamond jewelry, gas powered scooter and more. Tickets are available from any Lariette drill team member.
The online and silent auctions offer amazing items this year! Parents will have the chance to bid on SAT/ACT tutoring offerings, sports camps, and fitness memberships. Families will enjoy bidding on getaways to U.S. destinations and stays at luxury hotels. In addition, there are hundreds of gift cards and items from local restaurants, retailers, and entertainment venues up for bid.
