Future Cowboys & Cowgirls on the Move This Summer!

Prime Time Elite Track Club has been a place where many of Coppell’s youth have come during their summers to develop and grow in the area of Track and Field. This summer there were a few Prime Time Elite athletes among those youth who really stood out with their accomplishments, exceptional performances, and big successes over the summer!

Sky Schuller Incoming Coppell High School Freshman, Sky Schuller, returned to the TAAF State Meet in College Station, TX in July to compete in the 14U girls Pole Vault where she ended up with a record-breaking 1st place medal and set a new, 14U TAAF State Meet record in a jump of 11’6”! From there, Sky went on the following week to the AAU, Junior Olympics in Greensboro, NC where she competed against the best in the nation scoring 3193 points in the 14U Pentathlon(100MH;High Jump;Shot Put;Long Jump;800M.) Over the days that followed, Sky also competed in these open events as well; The 100M & 200M Hurdles, High Jump, & Pole Vault. While at Junior Olympics, Sky became a 2x, All-American Pentathlon Champion, she earned 1st place in the 14U High Jump, with a jump of 5'5", just shy of her 5'6" PR. Sky also won a silver medal in the 14U Pole Vault, at a height of 11'3.75" as well! We are excited about helping Sky further develop and seeing her continued success in Track and Field!

Samir Thota Coppell High School Senior, Samir Thota who also trains and competes during his summers with Prime Time Track Club, has also hit some major PR’s and accomplishments both on and off the Track. While competing at the TAAF State Meet in July, Samir ran personal best times in both the 100M & 200M Dashes, running 10.97 & 22.12 in both races respectively. Samir is not only speedy, he is also super smart! As a CHS, academic standout, Samir has recently been approached and has caught the interest of some of the best Ivy League Universities in the nation as a result of his coupled athletic and academic achievements! Samir will be one of the top CHS returners on the Track Team to watch for the 2020 season and his future is looking very bright!

Hannah Switzer 2019 graduate and former Coppell HS Hurdler, Hannah Switzer decided to extend her Track season and train with Prime Time Elite Track Club this summer in order to pursue her goals to continue to run Track post high school. After ending her Senior season at CHS, at the District Meet with a very disappointing fall while running in her 300M Hurdle race, where she had a very convincing lead, before tripping over the last hurdle, just feet from crossing the finish line! With an ax to grind, Hannah did not quit, she came out and trained hard, continued to hone her hurdle craft, and qualified for the TAAF State Meet! Hannah went down to compete at the TAAF State Meet, in College Station, TX where she earned the title of State Champion in the 18U girls 300MH! This Fall, Hannah will be attending Baylor University and has plans to walk-on to the Track and Field team while there to further pursue her love of Track!

Mia Schuller All-American Mia Schuller, sister of Sky Schuller, who will be a 5th grader at Pinkerton Elementary in the fall, also qualified and competed at the AAU Junior Olympics in the 10U High and Long Jumps. Mia got 2nd place & brought home a silver medal in the High Jump, earning AAU All-American honors! Mia is a multi-talented athlete who also plays soccer and runs the 800M Dash as well! Mia has continued to grow and improve in all her events over the past 3 years setting new  PR’s this summer in the Long Jump, High Jump, and 800M! She told me that she plans to hurdle too next summer(when she gets old enough)...Seems like I have heard this statement before from older sister, Sky when she was Mia’s age! Mia is just awesome, and what a pleasure it has been to Coach and develop these kids and help foster their love for the sport of Track and Field.

Davin Stuart Congrats goes to 10U All-American, Davin Stuart for competing in the Long Jump and placing 5th in the High Jump at AAU Junior Olympics! Davin attended Richard J Lee Elementary in CISD and has been a member of Prime Time Elite Track Club for the past 4 years! Davin is such a hardworking, and talented athlete who has developed and grown tremendously over the years in the high jump, long jump, and short sprints. Unfortunately, Davin and his family had to move away from Coppell this month to Atlanta, GA area. We will miss him and his family very dearly and we wish him the very best in all of his future endeavors as he transitions to his new home in Atlanta! We have already referred him to a summer Track program, ATLZoom there in Atlanta, and know that he will be in good hands moving forward!

As the Head Coach of Prime Time Elite Track Club, I am grateful for all of our athletes and their families for allowing me to give back what was given to me! The Summer 2019, was another great season in the books! Now we rest until our Fall Training begins, after October 31st, when we will gear back up again to compete during Indoor Track season (yes that’s a thing) and help those athletes who wish to prepare for their upcoming school track seasons!
