As part of its new membership to the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, on Friday, November 15, Amazon hosted members of the Chamber for a ribbon cutting and exclusive tour of the Amazon Robotics Fulfillment Center in Coppell. The tour of the more than 1-million square foot fulfillment center consisted of seeing the magic that happens after you click “buy” on Amazon. Participants had a behind-the-scenes view of the robotics fulfillment center & learned more about how humans and robots work together to pick, pack, and ship customer orders. The event was an incredible opportunity for the fulfillment center to engage with other business owners and the community, as well as introduce the site’s new tour program.

“Amazon is dedicated to the communities where our employees live and work,” said Doug Bogdanowitz, Amazon General Manager. “We are very excited to become a member of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, and to have the opportunity to connect with local business owners and community members. The Chamber has been an essential part of the community and Amazon intends to be a contributing member of the Chamber’s initiatives.”

This fulfillment center is one of nine in the state of Texas. This building holds tens of millions of products and is one of more that 50 Amazon Robotics fulfillment centers across the globe. In addition to the robotic technology, this facility utilizes vision systems and almost 20 years’ worth of software and mechanical innovations to fulfill customer orders.
