This past Friday, Amazon hosted about 25 middle-school aged students from Grapevine Colleyville Technical Education and Career Center (TECC) for a tour of their Amazon Robotics Fulfillment Center in Coppell in celebration of National STEM Day. The tour was part of the Amazon Future Engineer program, through which recently, TECC received an Amazon Future Engineer Robotics Grant for $10,000 to fund their FIRST robotics program registrations to start a robotics club. TECC is one of 100 schools throughout the U.S. to receive this grant. The students participated in the behind-the-scenes tour of Amazon’s more than one-million square foot robotics fulfillment center & learned more about how humans and robots work together to pick, pack, and ship customer orders.

"We are proud to be a member of the Coppell community and support TECC’s efforts to give students access to hands-on computer science activities."

“It was great for the kids to see their robotics studies do pertain to real-life applications,” said Jamie Nutt, seventh-grade STEM/Science teacher at Grapevine Middle School. “The kids enjoyed the chance to see how robotics and humans work together to fulfill Amazon orders.”
