Based loosely on the author himself, Eugene Jerome is growing up in 1937, living with his family in Brooklyn. Dreaming of baseball and girls, he copes with his formidable mother, his overworked father, his worldly older brother, a widowed aunt with two girls of her own, and the eccentricities of their neighbors. It’s a recipe for hilarity, served up by the master of comedy – the author of The Odd Couple and Barefoot in the Park.
