The CHS girls varsity track team took home a fourth place finish from the Lewisville Goldsmith Relays on Thursday, March 7. The boys varsity team won seventh place at the meet held at Goldsmith Stadium in Lewisville.
The CHS girls varsity team scored 18 points in the Pole Vault event, with Sarah Agnew placing second, Rosemary Brinegar placing third and Paola Lozano taking fourth. Scoring 16 team points, the 4x200m Relay team of Adaiwu Nwaiwu, Selase Buatsi, Bailey Bedichek and Chiamaka Ukoha crossed the finish line in second place. In the Triple Jump, 10 team points came from Ukoha in second place and Buatsi in fifth. Sammy Robben added eight points by taking second place in the Discus Throw, as did the fourth place 4x400 m Relay team of Leah Yates, Ukoha, Marian McRae and Sierra Andres and the 4x100m Relay team of Kate Rohrbough, Nwaiwu, Andres and Ukoha. Six team points were scored via fourth and fifth place Long Jump finishes from Rohrbough and Yates. Anna Novosadova rounded out the team scoring with a fifth in 300m Hurdles and a sixth in 100m Hurdles.
The boys varsity team scoring was led by a 10-point, first place Triple Jump of 43’6.25” from Marcus Mitchell. Taking second for eight points was long jumper Cliftin Fadal, as well as the third place 4x100m Relay team of Chris Bates, Eric Stevenson, Omari Cole and Cameron Smith. Pole Vault racked up six points thanks to Esere Nesiama and Chad Williams, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Taking fifth for four points were the 4x200m Relay team of Jacob Murray, Stevenson, Bates and Cole, and the 4x400m Relay team of Darian Lowe, Murray, Austin Moore and Josh Fink. Lowe added two points for fifth place in the 400m Run. Adding a sixth place point each were Leighton Light in Shot Put, Carson Vickroy in the 3200m Run and Chibuzor Osuji in the 110m Hurdles.
In junior varsity action, first place through sixth place finishes came from: Andrea Abel, Sydney Gainer, Alex Fuselier, Nicole Francis, Brock Ethridge, the girls 4x100m Relay team, the girls 4x400m Relay team, Ashley Burgess, Lynn Conkelton, the boys 4x200m Relay team, the girls 4x200m Relay team, AnnMarie Vincenzo, Meg Howard, Trevor Onslott and Giovante Amaya.
