Make A Child Smile Scarlett Hovland, City of Coppell Administrative Support Assistant/Make A Child Smile Coordinator accepts a $500 check from Panasonic Avionics representatives (L to R) Shari Biondahl and Michelle Orr.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the City Manager’s Office at Town Center, as Coppell based Panasonic Avionics donated a check totaling $500 to the City’s Make A Child Smile program. Panasonic has participated in this community program for more than a decade.

“We appreciate Panasonic’s participation and know that we can always count on them to assist with Make A Child Smile,” said city manager Clay Phillips.

This unique program provides gifts to the children of Coppell whose families need a little extra help during the holiday season. The 2012 program is underway.

Individuals or groups interested in purchasing gifts for families should stop by Town Center, 255 Parkway Blvd., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and pick up a paper ornament listing the child’s gender and clothing size. Shoppers can then purchase their gifts, wrap them and return them to Town Center with the paper ornament securely fastened to the outside of the package. Or, if you would like to have ornaments emailed to you, please email Scarlett Hovland at shovland@coppelltx.gov or Debbie Cravey at dcravey@coppelltx.gov with your name, preferred email address and a daytime contact number. City employees will deliver the gifts prior to Christmas.

Anyone interested in helping with this community project should call Scarlett Hovland at 972-304-3663 or shovland@coppelltx.gov.
