During a recent spirit rally, Mockingbird Elementary's Principal, Pam Mitchell, puckered up and kissed a live pig — much to the delight of the onlooking student body.

Mitchell was fulfilling an earlier promise she had made to the students: she would gladly kiss a pig if the school PTO could meet their write-a-check fundraising goal. This goal was not only met, but exceeded — "Maverick Round-up" was able to raise over $15,500 to help fund technology and enrichment activities for the coming year.
