The Coppell Community Chorale will begin rehearsals for its spring semester on Monday, January 8 at 7:00PM. The non-audition choir welcomes new members the first three weeks of any semester.
The Coppell Community Chorale has been an active performing group since the mid-1980s. The group brings together singers of all ages from Coppell and surrounding areas. Its mission is to promote, support, and sustain interest in choral music, enrich and inspire the lives of members and audiences and to be leaders in the Coppell arts community.
The Chorale performs under the direction of Joshua Brown. Mr. Brown is thrilled to be in his second season as the Artistic Director of the Coppell Community Chorale. This fall he also began his doctoral studies at the University of North Texas. In addition, Mr. Brown is the Director of Music at St. Philip Presbyterian Church in Hurst and is on the Voice Faculty at Marcus High School in Lewisville. Prior to beginning his degree, he served as the Director of Choirs at Coppell High School from 2012-2017.
The Chorale’s year runs from August to May. Two themed concert weekends are held in November and May along with a Holiday Concert in December and Special Concert in early Spring.
Remaining performance dates for the Chorale’s 20167–2018 season include “World of Song,” a celebration of music from around the world to be held at the newly renovated Cozby Library and Community Commons on Saturday, February 24 and the traditional spring concert, “Forces of Nature,” the weekend of May 12 at the Coppell Center for the Arts. “Forces of Nature” is a themed concert where the music performed will feature weather, nature and other natural phenomenon.
The chorale rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Coppell Center for the Arts located at 157 S. Moore Road in Coppell.
