Beginning July 29 through August 19, the Coppell Rotary Club, Coppell Fire Department, and the Coppell Family YMCA are teaming up to hold a school supply drive for Coppell children who need a little extra help with this year’s school supplies.

These organizations are asking the public to buy extra school supplies and donate to a Coppell child through the “Buy One, Give One” Back to School Supply Drive.

Coppell Fire Chief, Kevin Richardson said, “the Fire Department is ready and committed to helping local families impacted by difficult economic times.” Donations in the form of school supplies and backpacks can be dropped off at any of the three Coppell Fire Stations or the Coppell Family YMCA. At the Fire Department, Richardson said, “Simply ring the buzzer at the front door or leave the supplies on the porch and the firefighters will handle the rest.” A collection box will be provided at the YMCA for participants to drop off supplies.

According to Coppell Rotarian, Peter Lecca, “This is the Coppell Rotary’s fourth year in partnering with other organizations in Coppell, and we feel this is a great opportunity for our community to ensure students have all the necessary school supplies.” Supplies are being collected for all grade levels. The school supply list for each school in Coppell can be found on the school’s website or visit www.coppellrotary.org for a current list of the most needed supplies.
