The Coppell family-owned and operated company, Right Choice Painting and Construction, has once again tucked another award under their belt, this time being recognized by their own business community.

The Coppell Chamber of Commerce’s “Business of the Year” award was presented to Jeff and Jan Adkinson and their daughter, Jordan Mederos, at a luncheon held in February at the Grapevine Springs Senior Center. “Receiving this award is such an honor,” said Jan Wagner Adkinson, Chief Operating Officer of Right Choice.

Jeff Adkinson, CEO/President of Right Choice, has served on the Chamber Board for 3 years and stepped up to fill the role of Treasurer for one of those years. However their service to the Chamber was just the tip of the iceberg in the list of reasons Right Choice received the Business of the Year award.

When the April hailstorm came last year, they worked around the clock to secure homes in our community. With another storm threatening, the Right Choice family, along with their crews, left their own damaged homes and went out immediately in the community and began tarping roofs, securing damaged structures, even supporting a home’s wall that was in danger of collapsing and taking whatever measures were necessary to prevent further damage from the next storm.

Stepping up in times of a disaster is just one of the virtues of this outstanding business. They also are very involved in supporting the community. Donations totaling thousands of dollars have been given to numerous organizations including: Coppell High School Band, Coppell Nature Park, City of Coppell Police National Night Out, Coppell High School Lariettes, Coppell High School Football, Coppell High School Cross Country, Coppell High School Golf, New Tech High School, Coppell High School Basketball, and more.

In addition, Jan and Jordan have both served on the Coppell Women’s Club Board. Jordan first as Board Secretary and then about halfway through her term, she also took on the responsibility of Luncheon Co-Chairperson, a job she enjoyed so much, she continued for a second year.

Jan served on the Coppell Women’s Club Board as Secretary from 2008 through 2010 and as Club President from 2010 through 2012. During that time Jan was recognized for, among other things, growing the membership by 66% and increasing meeting and luncheon attendance.

Right Choice Operations Manager Kyle Mederos said the company has had an Adopt-A-Location along Denton Tap for the past 7 years, which means they are responsible for keeping the area clean of litter. They target their adopted location for clean-up at least 4 times per year. Kyle says the company is proud to help keep Coppell clean and beautiful.

Right Choice Painting and Construction recently received the State of Texas Small Business Award and were recognized by the Office of the Governor and Texas Workforce Commission as a 2012 North Texas Small Business Champion, having been nominated for the award by the Coppell Chamber of Commerce.

Right Choice Painting & Construction’s commitment to outstanding service is unwavering. With over 8,000 successfully completed projects in the last seven years, Right Choice has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, Super Service Awards with Angie’s List and they are fully insured.

Whether it’s a home in need of repair or a nonprofit organization in need of help, there’s only one Right Choice (972) 745-1888.
