Coppell High School QB Jack Fishpaw in action

Coppell High School used an explosive offensive attack led by Jack Fishpaw to defeat Sachse High School 56-27 Thursday night at Homer B. Johnson Stadium in the first game of the season.

Fishpaw threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns while adding 83 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Malkam Wallace ran for 113 yards and three touchdowns. Zack Darkoch led all receivers with five receptions for 181 yards, while Ayrion Sneed had two touchdown catches.

Coppell (1-0) gained 530 yards of total offense, using big yardage plays to propel them to victory. Four of Coppell's touchdowns came from more than 25 yards out.

Sachse (0-1) was led by RC Reeves, who had 159 yards rushing with three touchdowns, and by Pope Akanna with 163 yards and one touchdown.
