The Coppell High School Cross Country teams competed Saturday, September 14 in the annual Flower Mound invitational. The teams started off strong with the Varsity Girls team finishing 5th overall.  Paskalina Bourbon crossed the line first for the Cowgirls with a time of 21:02. The next two Cowgirls were Jessie Cranmer and Gabrielle Olivas with times of 21:18 and 21:21. Freshman Ashley Scrivner also had a great run crossing the finish line as the 4th Cowgirl at 21:40. The JV girls finished 2nd, with lead runner Dayton Perry finishing 4th with a time of 22:40.

The Varsity boys had a great day, finishing in 2nd place overall. Senior captain Carson Vickroy led the team with a 4th place finish and a time of 16:49. Not far behind him was Junior Josh Thomas who finished 6th with a time of 17:00. Leo Fan was 3rd for the Cowboys in 13th place with a time of 17:28.  Freshmen Alan Huo was 16th in 17:35 and Nathan Sims was 23rd with a time of 17:50.  On the JV side, the boys got 1st place overall! Notable runs were 1st place Anand Pant running 18:32 and Freshman Troy Briscoe finishing 4th with a time of 18:55. Way to go Cowboys and Cowgirls!

The next meet will be September 28 at Hidden Cove Park in The Colony.
