Alan Huo and Leo Fan Freshman Alan Huo and Junior Leo Fan help their team secure a 2nd place overall finish at the Eagle Invitational hosted by Prosper High School on Sept. 7.

Congratulations to the Cowboys Varsity Cross Country Team for their 2nd place finish out of 23 teams at the Eagle Invitational sponsored by Prosper High School on Saturday, Sept. 7.  Senior Captain Carson Vickroy was not able to run due to tendonitis, so Junior Josh Thomas was the first Cowboy to finish the 5K race in 13th place overall with a time of 18:10.  Freshman phenom Alan Huo was the second Cowboy in 16th place with a time of 18:21.  He was followed by Leo Fan in 22nd place with a time of 18:34.  Other Varsity Cowboys who helped secure the 2nd place team finish were Nathan Sims, Shane Rigdon, George Fairchild, Braden Young, Jay Harrison, Anand Pant and Troy Briscoe.  The JV Boys secured a first place win for their team.  Leading the pack for the Cowboys were Justin Armenta with a time of 19:35, Chandler Moake with a time of 19:50 and Jay Carroll with a 20:14.  Way to Cowboys!

The Cowgirls are also to be commended for their 4th place finish out of 21 teams.  The Cowgirls were lead by Junior Paskalina Bourbon who came in 12th overall with a time of 21:44 for the 5K race.  Next in was Gabrielle Olivas, 23rd overall with a time of 22:20.  One second later, Jessie Cranmer crossed the line in 24th place.  Other Varsity Cowgirls who contributed to the team score were Grace Barden, Tara Akhikari, Stephanie Bilka, Laura Taylor, Ashley Scrivner and Taylor Dubey.  The JV Girls ran to a 3rd place team finish in their 2-mile race.  Way to go Cowgirls!
