Coppell Lariette Officers and Chef Morris prepare to “kick off” The 23rd Annual Spaghetti Dinner, Raffle and Silent Auction. Featuring (l-r) Abby Hymer, Kristen Lason, Sarah Wales, Adrienne Allen, Morris Salerno, Ellie Manning, Hannah Yao, Michelle Barker, and Kristin Welke.
It is one of Coppell’s favorite traditions to kick-off the first home football game of the season by attending the Coppell Lariette Spaghetti Dinner prior to the game. The 23rd Annual Lariette Spaghetti Dinner, Raffle and Silent Auction will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, August 26, at Coppell High School in the Commons.

Award-winning chef, Morris Salerno, of Bistecca Italian Steakhouse in Highland Village has provided the food for the Lariette Spaghetti Dinner for the past 23 years.  When he was approached in 1993 by the Lariette Drill Team to make the pasta for 200 people he offered to make the entire dinner instead.  This year it is anticipated that Salerno will be preparing over 1,500 spaghetti dinners the night of the event.

“There’s a lot of pride, tradition, and experience that goes into our food,” Salerno explains.  Salerno’s sauce, that he calls “suga”, is based on his great-grandmother’s recipe that he helped prepare as a child.  Coppell Community members return to the Lariette Spaghetti Dinner year after year to enjoy this famous sauce.

In addition to the dinner, there will also be a silent auction and raffle. Homemade dessert will be available for an additional fee from the bake sale.

$1 and $5 Raffle tickets are sold before and during the dinner and you do not have to be present to win.  Items in the raffle include a Phantom 3 Standard Drone, 48” Sony 1080p Full HD TV, weekend night stay at Omni Park West- Dallas, LG SH4 Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer, and many more items.  Tickets are available from any Lariette Drill Team member.

Hundreds of items are available for bidding at the dinner including rounds of golf at Trophy Club, Bridlewood, and Hackberry Creek, tickets to a Dallas Stars game, a ride to school for your child in a Coppell firetruck, dining and entertainment gift cards, designer accessories, and much more.

Tickets for the event are $10 for adult dinner and $5 for children ages 3 to 12.  For more information about the Lariette Spaghetti Dinner, please visit their website at www.chslariettes.com.
