Coppell ISD Students Receive Award

There’s nothing worse than hearing the words “You have cancer”.  One out of every two (2) males and one out of every three (3) females in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer in his/her lifetime. To help fight this terrible disease, our CISD schools have stepped up to the plate and truly are making a difference!

Recently, Coppell ISD schools received an award for “Best Youth Engagement” for their involvement in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. Specifically, the actions from both our High Schools (Coppell High School and New Tech) and our middle schools were highlighted in this awards ceremony held at the Irving Convention Center in January.

The upcoming 2012 Relay for Life Coppell is scheduled for April 28-29th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 AM at Wagon Wheel Park (Freeport Parkway and Ruby Road). If you haven't formed a team, signed up to participate, made a donation, or just want to learn more about this event, please go to www.relayforlifecoppell.com. There will be live music, games (Poker, Bingo, and many more), food, and special guest appearance from KSCS 96.3 DJ Terry Dorsey (Dorsey and the Gang).

This is the 10th anniversary in Coppell and we would love to see all of our parents, neighbors, kids, friends and most importantly, cancer survivors and caregivers there! With your support and donations, we hope to reach our grand total goal of $1 Million to fight cancer!

Please join us as we CELEBRATE those who have fought this terrible disease as well as their caregivers, REMEMBER those who have lost the cancer battle and FIGHT BACK against cancer!

One Day ... One Night ... One Community ... One Fight!
