When it comes to getting news and information out to the local community, the City of Coppell is served by one of the best.

Sharon Logan, Coppell's community information officer, received the Cheryl A. Soward Communicator of Distinction Award by the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers at a conference in June in Round Rock.

The award honors the the top government communication officials in the state.

"The recipient represents an individual who is a government communication professional, public information officer, and/or administrator who has excelled in the communication field," according to a City of Coppell news release.

Logan has been working in City's communications department for over 14 years.
