The Coppell Family YMCA, which is located at 146 Town Center Blvd., is offering a variety of summer camps for children. Check out the list below to see if there are any programs that may be of interest to your youngsters.

• Camp Mission (5-12 yrs)
  "Traditional Day Camps offered by the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas are licensed under the Texas Department of Safety and Health Services (TDSHS). These camps host activities that replicate a residential camp experience without having to stay the night. Camps focus on building character by nurturing the potential of each child and encouraging social responsibility. Kids spend 80% or more time outdoors. Lunch & snacks are provided."
  
  
• School Based Camps (5-12 yrs)
  "Summer Enrichment Programs are designed to offer experiential learning opportunities for children to be physically and mentally challenged. These programs also allow participants to engage in character building and positive relationships supporting a commitment to social responsibility. Licensed by the Texas Department of Family Protective Services. Kids spend at least 30 minutes outdoors."
  
  
• Preschool Camps (3-5 yrs)
  "Preschool Camps are available for 3 to 5 years olds at select locations. These camps are summer experiences that include hands on learning, splash time and tons of fun. Preschool Campers participate in themed weeks with special guests and family events planned throughout the summer. Kids spend at least 30 minutes outdoors."
  
  
• Camp on the Lake
  "Located on Lake Lewisville, Camp on the Lake is a premier waterfront camp created just for kids and families in the Lewisville, Flower Mound, Frisco, Plano, Park Cities, Coppell and North Dallas area. Camp on the Lake's location and ability to provide children with a myriad of outdoor adventures make it especially unique."
  
  
• Where Kids Come to Life
  "Overnight camp adventures! Established in 1949, YMCA Camp Grady Spruce is located 100 miles West of Dallas on stunningly beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake. Campers ages 7 - 16 learn to wakeboard, waterski, sail, horseback ride and more."
