Coppell Lariettes Drill Team Receives Top Awards During Competition Season

The Coppell Lariettes Drill Team recently completed their 2017 competition season that included the Crowd Pleasers DFW Showcase in Ft. Worth, the ADTS Galveston Island Festival in Galveston, and the MA Dance Nationals in Ft. Worth.
 
At the Crowd Pleasers DFW Showcase in Ft. Worth on February 18, the team awards included Super Sweepstakes, Best in Class Team Contemporary, Best in Class Team Jazz, 1st Runner-up Team Pom, Grand Champion Team, and Showcase Elite. The officers (Captain Adrienne Allen, Junior Lieutenant Kristen Lason, and Junior Lieutenant Sarah Wales) won Super Sweepstakes, Best in Class Officer Contemporary, Best in Class Officer Jazz, Best in Class Officer Novelty, Outstanding Artistry Award- Officer Contemporary, Grand Champion Officers, Showcase Elite, and Overall 2nd Place Officers. In the 11th Grade Senior Soloists competition, Michelle Barker was 6th runner up, Stephanie Wendt was 4th runner up, Kristen Lason was 1st runner up, and Sarah Wales was the 1st place winner. In the 12th Grade Senior Soloists competition, Adrienne Allen was 4th runner up.
 
At the ADTS Galveston Island Festival in Galveston on March 4, the team awards included Sweepstakes, Gussie Nell Davis Award, Judge’s Award in Jazz, Contemporary, and Pom; Platinum Award for Outstanding Merit in 4 major categories: Technique, Precision, Presentation, and Choreography; Winner of Large Team Division, and 4th place overall. The officers (Captain Adrienne Allen, Junior Lieutenant Kristen Lason, and Junior Lieutenant Sarah Wales) won Sweepstakes, Gussie Nell Davis Award, Judge’s Award in Jazz, Novelty, and Contemporary; Platinum Award for Outstanding Merit in 4 major categories: Technique, Precision, Presentation, and Choreography; Winner of Large Team Division, and 2nd place overall. In the soloists competitions, Stephanie Wendt was 4th runner-up, Addison Davis and Kristen Lason were both 3rd runner-up, Sarah Wales was 2nd runner-up, and Lisette Hotz was the 1st place winner.
 
At MA Dance Nationals in Ft. Worth on March 25, the team awards included 3rd place in Jazz, 2nd place in Pom, National Champion in Contemporary, and Winner’s Circle. The officers (Captain Adrienne Allen, Junior Lieutenant Kristen Lason, and Junior Lieutenant Sarah Wales) won 2nd place in Jazz, National Champion Contemporary, National Champion Novelty, and the Winner’s Circle- 4th place overall. In the Senior Solo competition, Sarah Wales was 12th runner-up.
 
The Lariettes are under the direction of Julie Stralow, Director, and Hayley Mitchell, Assistant Director.
