Kid Country 2012 parade float in the annual Fourth of July parade in Coppell.

For two decades, the children of the City of Coppell have spent countless hours at Kid Country, where they developed and honed their strength, coordination and balance in a safe and fun environment with their fellow peers. To keep Kid Country safe and fun, the city tore down the original this year and is now ready to start rebuilding Kid Country 2012. To do so, they'll need all the volunteers willing and possible.

The city has decided on two pre-build days for Kid Country 2012 on Monday, September 24 and Tuesday, September 25. Both days will require at least 50 volunteers at all time from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The actual build week will take place beginning on Tuesday, October 2 and will last until Sunday, October 7. The city and the playground will need as many volunteers as they can get. To sign up for either the pre-build or the actual build week, check out the Kid Country 2012 website.

Coppell is also a little short of their target donation goal. The donation goal for Kid Country 2012 stands at $500,000 but so far, the city has received $443,000 in donations. Donations can also be made at the Kid Country 2012 website.
