Eight months is a long time to wait, but the return of high school football is finally here. The powerhouse Coppell High School football team will be kicking off their 2012-2013 in a big way with a game scheduled against Longview High School at Southern Methodist University's Ford Stadium on Saturday, September 1.

The Cowboys will have several new faces on the field this year with the most noticeable position being quarterback. Last year's quarterback, Jake Larson, has graduated and left his starting spot up for grabs. The team has several options available, including last year's back-ups - Tyler Zabojnik and Connor Wilson.

However, under a new quarterback establishes himself, the team will have running back Luke Jenner to fall back on. Jenner was a workhorse for Coppell last year, rushing 202 times for 1,088 yards and 11 touchdowns. The new quarterback will also still have last year's top wide receiver Jacob Logan to throw the ball to.

Kick-off for the game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Come out and support your Coppell football team!
