The Cowboys came up with an exciting 3-2 win over the Plano West Wolves on Tuesday night.

The Cowboys Soccer Teams traveled to Plano on Tuesday night to take on the Plano West Wolves in Clark Stadium in their second scrimmage of their preseason play.  The SIMA Fab 50 #5 nationally ranked Cowboys came out on top with a score of 3-2 in an exciting match which had the Cowboys scoring first with a rocket shot by Scott Simigian off of a cross by Marcelo Gaitan.  The Wolves came back in the second half to tie it up on a penalty kick, but the Cowboys responded with a header goal by George Ackling off a free kick by Stjepan Kilic to make it to 2-1.  The Wolves came back strong to tie it up 2-2.

The Cowboys, however, would have the final say with Waleed Cherif sending a short pass into Kiko Redondo to get the ball into the back of the net for a final score of 3-2.  The JV Cowboys also came out on top with a 2-0 win over the Wolves.  The Cowboys are off to a nice start beating two top five nationally ranked teams with their 2-1 win over #4 Frisco Wakeland last week.

Next up for the Cowboys will be their North Texas Elite Showcase Tournament where they will take on McNeil High School from Austin on Thursday night, 1/7 at 7 pm and John Paul II on Friday at 5 pm.  They will finish the showcase tournament against #2 nationally ranked Arlington Sam Houston on Saturday, 1/9, at 12 noon.  The Cowboys games will all take place at CHS's Buddy Echols Field (CHS Stadium).  There will be fourteen teams from across the Metroplex and beyond taking part in the three day tournament with games being played at CHS Stadium and Coppell Middle School North.  For a complete schedule go to:  coppellsoccer.com.  Come out and cheer on your Cowboys while watching some of the best high school soccer in the country right here in Coppell!
