Coppell residents who would like to serve the community can now file to be a candidate in the city's Municipal Officer Election.

Positions that candidates can run for on the ballet are Places 2, 4, 6 and Mayor, and anyone who is interested must file an application between now and March 5.

People who are elected to officer positions will serve three-year terms. Candidates must meet certain criteria, including being a qualified voter, resident of Coppell for 12 months prior to the election date, and not "in arrears in the payment of any taxes or other liabilities" to the City.

Anyone who is interested in filing an application for a position can pick up a candidate packet in the City Secretary's office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Town Center located at 255 Parkway Blvd.
