So far, $170,000 of a $500,000 goal has been raised to rebuild the Kid Country Playground next to the Coppell Aquatics and Recreation Center in Andy Brown Park.
A Casino Night fundraising event is being hosted to help raise money for the new playground at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Senior Center at Grapevine Springs Park.
In addition to fun games, the Casino Night will feature "music, food, and a bar alongside silent and live auctions," according to the event's website. Tickets cost $40, and childcare will be provided for free. All of the proceeds raised will benefit the playground.
The new playground has been designed by Leathers & Associate architects, who spent two days brainstorming ideas with local Coppell elementary school students. The project includes the newest concepts in playground design for safety and access, and you can learn more by visiting KidCountry2012.com.
