Junior, Tori Kellett, placed 2nd in the 100m hurdles for Coppell

The Coppell High School Men’s Varsity Track & Field team finished 3rd at the Lewisville Goldsmith Relays on Thursday, March 3 at Lewisville High School.  Flower Mound Marcus took 1st place, and Lewisville Hebron placed 2nd.   Junior, Zach Dicken, led the Coppell men’s team with 1st place finishes in the 100 meters at 11.02 and the 400 meters at 49.15.  Dicken placed 3rd in the 200 meter at 22.29.  Dicken’s 400 meter time qualified him for the Elite Silver Status U.S. Second Team. 

 Juniors, Alan Huo and Nathan Sims, were also team leaders for the men’s team.  Huo placed 3rd in the 800 meters at 2:00.08, and 2nd in the 1600 meters at 4:31.01.  Sims placed 2nd in the 3200 meter at 9:53.07.

 The Coppell Varsity Women’s team had leading performances by Juniors, Tori Kellett and Lauren Cunningham.  Kellett placed 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles at 16.38.  Cunningham finished 3rd in the 400 meters at 1:01.02.  The Women’s 4x400 Relay team of Cunningham, Sara Smith, Kaitlyn Hernandez, and Bryce Utter took 3rd place at 4:09.08.  Coppell JV Men’s team leaders were Peirson Greenlee taking 2nd in the 300m hurdles at 44.04; and Junior, Tyler Brisco, finishing 3rd in the 800 meters at  2:08.83.

 Coppell will participate in the Theo Rigsby Relays at Birdville Stadium in Haltom City on Thursday, March 10.
