The Cowboys celebrate after Tanner Traw's goal to make it 6-1, Cowboys.

The Coppell Cowboys Soccer team finished their incredible, undefeated season in dominating fashion with a decisive 6-1 win over Lake Travis in the 6A State Championship Final this past Saturday night in Georgetown. The Cowboys defeated Katy Cinco Ranch in a tough 1-0 match on Friday night in the State Semi-final with the only goal of the game being from a penalty kick by Player of the Game, junior, Nick Taylor after he was taken down in the box.

The Championship Final proved to be a more evenly matched first half with the score tied at 1-1 going into the 2nd half.  Wyatt Priest's header found the back of the net for the first goal of the night.  It was in the 2nd half where the Cowboys dominance took over.  A pair of free kicks by Brandon Bohn resulted in goals from Scott Simigian and Parker McClure bringing the score to 3-1.  Nick Taylor then had a rocket shot from 40 yards out that found the upper left corner of the goal to make it 4-1.  Wyatt Priest then took advantage of a one on one with the Lake Travis goalkeeper to make it 5-1.  The final goal of the night occurred in the last few minutes of the game when Greg Johnston sent a long bomb from the back up to Tanner Traw, who had a perfect first touch and break away to find the back of the net making it 6-1, Cowboys.

Cowboys defender, senior Brandon Bohn, (Trinity University commit) was named the 6A State Tournament MVP!  Bohn, senior Scott Simigian and juniors Parker McClure and Alex Haas were named to the UIL All Tournament Team.

The #2 nationally ranked Cowboys have much to celebrate at their end of season banquet this Sunday, April 24.  Way to go Cowboys!
