The Cowboys come up with a big win against L.D. Bell for Youth Night. Thank you to all the Coppell youth players that came out to support the Cowboys!

It was another big district week for Cowboys Soccer!  The undefeated, SIMA FAB 50 #3 nationally ranked Cowboys began the 2nd half of their district season with a big 7-1 win over L.D. Bell at home for Youth Night on Friday, February 19th.  The first match up between these two had a much closer 2-1 outcome.  L.D. Bell started out strong scoring the first goal in the first five minutes of the game.  That served as the Cowboys wake up call and they controlled the rest of the game with Nick Taylor scoring the first goal of the night for the Cowboys and Player of the Game, Parker McClure, ending the night with a goal and an assist.  Wyatt Priest, who also had an assist, and Alex Haas each had two goals while Tanner Traw had a goal and two assists.  Rodrigo Zuniga and Scott Simigian contributed assists as well.

The Cowboys, who are in first place in District 7-6A, traveled to Dragon Stadium this past Tuesday night where Southlake Carroll put up a tough fight after their 6-0 loss to the Cowboys when the two played on January 29th.  With the blustering wind, cold temperature and constant drizzle, Alex Haas scored the first goal of the night unassisted with 20 minutes remaining in the first half.  The second half brought goal number two for the Cowboys when Tanner Traw found the back of the net off of a long pass up the field from Nick Taylor.  With 22 minutes remaining, the Dragons scored to make it 2-1.  Coppell was then called for a foul in the box.  The Carroll PK tied the game at 2-2, but luckily Nick Taylor came through with the final goal ending the battle in a 3-2 win for the Cowboys.  Scott Simigian was named Player of the Game for his incredible effort in helping to secure the win for the Cowboys.
